The founding members of the Remsen Performing and Visual Arts Center set out with a goal to create a place for our community to join together and celebrate the arts.

Remsen Concert Series

We have some amazing concerts lined up! From jazz and blues to rock & roll to Americana. Some new bands and also some you may have seen before. This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by CNY Arts. Plus membership and community support.

Sunday May 18 @ 3pm - Hiroya Tsukamoto (guitarist/ composer) Tsukamoto brings a blend of masterful fingerstyle guitar and evocative storytelling that transcends cultural barriers. Cash Prices: $15 General Admission • $12 Members

Saturday - Sunday May 31 @ 12-7pm thru June 1 @ 12-7pm - Remsen Arts Fest - The Remsen Arts Fest features local artists plus high school artists in the Remsen Art Market, live stage entertainment, children’s activities, artists demonstrations, video presentations, and more. This is a free event.

Saturday May 31 @ 7pm: Concert Double Bill with Wildflower plus Pete Ruben & Friends - Wildflower will open our concert evening at 7pm then Pete Ruben & Friends will take the stage at 8pm. Wildflower enthrall with new and old songs in their beautiful signature harmonies. Pete and his sax are a longtime staple in the local music scene. He will bring along a couple friends to fill out the band. Playing a wide variety of standards in jazz and pop.

Wednesday June 18 @ 6:30pm - Open Mic Night Hosted by Kevin Keating

Saturday June 21 @ 10-5 - 50th Anniversary Village Wide Celebration of the Remsen-Steuben Historical Society.

Sunday June 29 @ 3pm - Dance Party with Stage Road - Great music that will have body parts shaking. Stage Road plays mostly dance-able rock music. Over 20 years of delighting audiences. Come celebrate your very good life with us. Put on your dancin' shoes!

Wednesday July 17 @ 6:30pm - Open Mic Night Hosted by Kevin Keating

Sunday July 20 @ 3pm - Kyle O and Dave - Kyle O and Dave take their harmony cues from duos like the Everly Brothers and the Milk Carton Kids. Their fiddle tunes run the spectrum from Old Time to Celtic, from the Great American Songbook to Gypsy Jazz.

Tuesday Aug 5 @ 7pm - Tuesday Night Big Band - Performing music from the early 20th Century “Big Band Era”, including ones led by Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman plus more recent compositions. Dancing is encouraged!

Wednesday Aug 20 @ 6:30pm - Open Mic Night Hosted by Kevin Keating

Saturday Aug 23 - Daniel Bennett Group (Jazz) Cash Prices: $15 • $12 Members - New York saxophonist Daniel Bennett has been hailed as one of the most original and unpredictable musical voices of his generation. The Boston Globe described Bennett's music as, "a mix of Jazz, Folk and Minimalism." The Daniel Bennett Group is celebrating the release of their 10th studio album, ‘Mr. Bennett’s Mind.'

Saturday Sept 6 @  7:30pm -  Insolent Willies - A roots-rock band known for their hip-shaking mix of quirky, clever original music and unpredictable covers. The Insolent Willies have been nominated for 2025 "Americana Artist of the Year" in the Capital Region Eddies Music Awards, and "Folk/Bluegrass Band of the Year" in the ListenUp! Awards.

Sunday Sept 21 @ 2-4:30pm - Les Porter Tribute -The Remsen Arts Center will present a Tribute to Les Porter. Les Porter was instrumental in securing the building. During the event we will dedicate the main room as Porter Hall. The public is welcome to join us on this special occasion. We will have light snacks and refreshments, a video presentation, music, and more.

Sunday Oct 12 @ 3pm - Monk Rowe’s Roots of Rock and Roll - From Carl Perkins to Chuck Berry; from "In the Mood" to "Great Balls of Fire," the Roots of Rock & Roll covers the early influences and hit-making artists who redefined popular music. “Put on your Dancin’ Shoes!”

Wednesday Oct 15 @ 6:30pm - Open Mic Night Hosted by Kevin Keating

Sunday Nov 2 @ 3pm – John Savage Band - John Savage is a singer-songwriter with a unique sound that draws on his early influences in roots rock, reggae, country and Americana. With decades of experience entertaining audiences throughout central New York, they cover classic rock and blues from the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Marshall Tucker, Little Feat, and more.

Friday Nov 8 @ 7pm – Talent Show - 11th Annual Talent Show featuring you. The show may include singers, pianist, fiddlers, comedians, storytellers, surprise acts, and much more. Fun for the entire family! General Admission: Free Will Donation.

Saturday Nov 15 @ 10am-3pm – Model Railroad Show - The Remsen Arts Center presents the 9th Annual Model Railroad Show. Fun for the entire family! Free General Admission, donations accepted.

Wednesday Nov 19 @ 6:30pm - Open Mic Night Hosted by Kevin Keating

Friday - Sunday Dec 5-7 – Christmas in the Village Weekend Free - Parade, Family Sing-along, Santa, Art, Music, and fun for the entire family.
