Adirondack Espressivo Chamber Group Concert

"The Music of Bridgerton” performed by Adirondack Espressvio Chamber Group. The program features classical music from the time period of the show, including works of Stamitz, Baermann, and others; music from the Bridgerton show soundtrack, such as arrangements of I Will Always Love You, Wrecking Ball, You Belong With Me, and The Bridgerton theme music, to name a few; and some extra musical gems of American composer George Gershwin.

The Adirondack Espressivo Chamber Group was formed in June 2021. It is composed of professional musicians with the goal of performing classical, contemporary, and pop chamber music in the Adirondack Region.

Kevin Bellosa (cello) started the cello through the public school in Utica, New York in the 7th grade. He attended Murray State University in Kentucky for his undergrad degree and the Eastman School of Music in New York for his graduate work. Kevin has been a cellist with the Albany Symphony since 1983. He also is a cellist with the Venice and Punta Gorda Symphonies of Florida. He is a former member of the Glens Falls Symphony, Skidmore College Symphony, and Potsdam Orchestra. Kevin is a cellist with the Northland Chamber Ensemble and the Adirondack Espressivo Chamber Ensemble. Kevin also taught elementary strings, middle and high school orchestra for 34 years.

Carla (Koehler) Bellosa (viola) grew up in San Diego CA. She started playing viola at La Mesa Junior High School and was a member of the Civic Youth Orchestra. She attended college at San Diego State University, the University of Nebraska and finished her undergraduate degree at Illinois State University, studying with Arthur Lewis. Carla attended the Eastman School of Music in New York for graduate studies. She studied with Heidi Castleman and completed her Master of Music at Eastman in Viola Performance in 1979. Carla has played with the Albany Symphony since 1984 and has also played with the Glens Falls Symphony, and the Potsdam and Skidmore College Orchestras. She has played in Florida, with the Punta Gorda and Venice Symphonies. Carla is a member of the Northland Chamber Ensemble and the Adirondack Espressivo Ensemble. She is a retired elementary string teacher.

Colleen O’Neil (clarinet) has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Clarinet Performance from Ithaca College, and a Master of Music in Music Education from Syracuse University. A native of Rome NY, she has taught instrumental and general music in public and parochial schools in the Mohawk Valley area for nearly twenty years and has played previously as a sub/extra in the Utica and Catskill Symphony Orchestras. Colleen is an original member of Jewel Winds Quintet, and Alliance Classical Players.

Starting at the early age of four years, Jon Magendanz (violin) began his violin instruction with his father, an assistant concertmaster with the Utica Symphony Orchestra. His later instructors included Louis Krasner at Syracuse University, Bela Urban at Hart’s School of Music, and Elaine Ritchie at Yale University. Past affiliations include Concertmaster of the Utica Symphony, Concertmaster and Asst. Conductor of the Anna Maria Island Concert Orchestra, chamber music instructor for the New York String Teachers’ summer music camp at SUNY@Fredonia, Chairman and Director of the Holland Patent School string program, past member of the Venice (FL) Symphony, and regular member of the Boonville Concert Band. Jon has appeared as soloist locally, nationally and internationally, employing his talents presently in Florida and in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State.
